Jason Dufner recorded a 2-under-par 68 in the final round to capture the PGA Championship, his first major victory. At 10-under-par 270, Dufner finished four shots better than any past winner in the previous five majors held at Oak Hill.

Dufner played in five AJGA tournaments between 1994 and 1995. Dufner’s highest finish came at the 1995 Ray Floyd Turnberry Isle Junior Classic in Adventura, Fla., where rounds of 78-75-74 anda tournament-total 11-over-par 227 put him in 14th place. In 1995, Dufner also competed in the Bluegrass Invitational, now the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior, one of the longest-running events on the AJGA schedule.

Following his junior career, Dufner walked-on to the golf team at Auburn University, where he would record three wins and take home All-SEC selection honors in 1997-98 and 2000. He also received Honorable Mention All-America honors in 1997.
