Newcomer of the Year

Erie Junior Golf Classic

The AJGA Newcomer of the Year Award honors a first-year tournament that displays the complete tournament experience in its inaugural year. With ample money raised for charity, extra activities in the hospitality room and extensive media coverage, the Erie Junior Golf Classic was an all-around successful tournament, due in large part to an extremely involved Tournament Committee.

El Camaleón Golf Club (Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico)

The Media Award recognizes a tournament with outstanding media participation and coverage before, during and after the event. The Mayakoba Junior Golf Classic claims the media award after receiving ample print, broadcast and radio coverage throughout the event, thanks in large part to a press conference that 19 members of the media attended.
