Neumann Named European PING Jr. Solheim Cup Captain

A former Solheim Cup team member, Lotta Neumann will lead the European Team at the 2011 PING Junior Solheim Cup.

Lotta Neumann, former British and U.S. Women’s Open champion, has been named the European Team captain for the 2011 PING Junior Solheim Cup.

The PING Junior Solheim Cup, which biennially features the 12 best female junior golfers (ages 12-18) from the United States against the top 12 junior girls from Europe, will be held Sept. 20-21, 2011, at Knightsbrook Hotel Spa & Golf Resort in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland.

Neumann represented Europe in six Solheim Cups from 1990 to 2000 and was an assistant captain at the 2009 Solheim Cup.

Her counterpart on the U.S. Team will be Meg Mallon, a four-time Major champion and a 2009 Solheim Cup U.S. Assistant Captain.  The U.S. leads the all-time series, 3-2-0.
