Lee Bedford of Wake Forest took home the individual medalist honors at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classic with a 10-under-par 206.
The AJGA prides itself on preparing junior
golfers for college. The Alumni Honor Roll recognizes past AJGA players who
have recently medaled at a college tournament.
A junior at Wake Forest, Lee Bedford recorded a 5-under-par
31 on the back nine to come from three strokes back and win the Carpet Capital Collegiate Classicat The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga., with a 10-under-par 206. He defeated fellow teammate and former
AJGA player Evan Beck by two strokes.The duo led the Demon Deacons to a runner-up finish, four strokes back of
Alabama.
At the Women's NCAA Fall Preview at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas,
Megan McChrystal of LSU took home
the individual medalist honors with a 10-under-par 206, and helped her team to
a second-place finish. Marina Alex of Vanderbilt took the individual second place, two-strokes short of McChrystal.
