Each week, the AJGA honors one boy and one girl at every AJGA tournament who shoot the low final-round score. Below we hear from players at recent events as they recount the defining moment of their round.

Woodward Video Junior at The Greenbrier

"I played pretty solid," said Xander McDonald-Smith of Rockaway Park, N.Y., after carding a final-round 3-under-par 68. "I made a lot of putts which were the key today. I made a 20-foot downhill putt on No. 10 for birdie. I knew from then on it would be a good day."

"I birdied No. 4 all three days," said Samantha Marks of Maitland, Fla., after a posting 1-over-par 72 earn a second-place finish. "I really like that hole. I think that's what really got me going."

The Junior PLAYERS Championship

“On No. 13, I hit way right and had no shot behind the trees,” said Cody Proveaux of Leesville, S.C., who fired a final-round 6-under-par 66 to finish in fourth place. “Then I hit a flop shot to about five feet and made par. It started going well from there.”

AJGA Girls Championship

“The front nine was pretty tough to get through, but I knew I had to grind on the back nine to get ahead,” said Girls Division Champion Karen Chung of Livingston, N.J.  “The birdie at No. 14 was a surprise but helped propel me ahead.”
