Each year the AJGA recognizes numerous tournaments that have gone above and beyond to leave a lasting memory in the hearts of the juniors. This year the AJGA recognized the Fidelity Investments Junior Classic, held July 23-26 at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, Mass., for their tremendous improvement over years past.

With tremendous support from the local community, more than 100 Boston-area residents came out to volunteer at the three-day event. The tournament was headed by Co-Tournament Chairmen Tom Collins and Michael Zmetrovich, who were determined to make the event a lasting memory for all involved. Players were entertained nightly, including a sunset dinner boat cruise of Marblehead Harbor. Through the generosity of many, nearly $50,000 was raised in the Junior-Am (much like a PGA Tour Pro-Am) with $25,000 being donated to the MGA Junior Golf Fund.

“An event of this size takes a lot of work,” said Tedesco Country Club President Peter Dinsmore. “The committee, with a lot of guidance, followed the instruction given by the AJGA, and pulled together a terrific event.”
