The Old Second Bank Junior Championship at Aurora to be held July 21-24

Old Second Bank, headquartered in Aurora, Ill., will sponsor an American Junior Golf Association event at Aurora Country Club, the AJGA announced Friday. The Old Second Bank Junior Championship at Aurora will be held July 21-24.

A Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament, similar to a PGA TOUR Pro-Am, will be held Monday, July 21 with an 8 a.m. shotgun. The first round will be held Tuesday, July 22. The second round will be Wednesday, July 23, with final round action taking place Thursday, July 24. Tee times will run each day from 7-11:48 a.m. off the No.1 tee.

As the premier junior golf organization in the world dedicated to helping golfers ages 12-18 earn college golf scholarships, the AJGA will bring together 99 of the top boy and girl players from around the country for this 54-hole stroke play championship.

"Old Second Bank is excited to give back to the community we serve through a competitive junior golf tournament that will help young adults gain college golf exposure," said Jim Eccher, President of Old Second Bank.

Old Second has been a banking traditional since 1871 and is one of the area’s leading financial services organizations. Old Second has 35 locations in 7 counties in northern Illinois.

"The AJGA is thrilled to conduct another event in the Midwest," said Matt Larson, AJGA Midwest regional director. "This will be a first-class event with the support of Old Second Bank, Aurora Country Club and the community."
