Rolex Extends AJGA Premier Partnership

Longtime AJGA Sponsor extends its commitment five years

Rolex Watch USA has renewed its contract as a Premier Partner with the American Junior Golf Association through 2013, the AJGA announced Tuesday.

Rolex, “The Official Timepiece of the AJGA,” became the Association’s inaugural Premier Partner in 2004, crowning the distinguished timepiece maker as one of the largest contributors in the 30-year history of the Association.

“In extending its Premier Partnership with the AJGA, Rolex continues its longstanding commitment to supporting junior golf,” said Allen Brill, Rolex Watch USA President and CEO. “The AJGA, like Rolex, plays an integral part in the development of the game and ensures that its traditions are upheld. With both parties sharing similar views, it is easy to recognize why the relationship is an ideal match and such a success.”

Rolex is the title sponsor of two of the premier events in junior golf – the Rolex Tournament of Champions and the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Rolex is also the proprietor of the AJGA Rolex Players of the Year, Rolex Junior All-America Teams and the year-ending Rolex Junior All-America Awards Banquet.

As part of the agreement, Rolex is also an Official Partner to the biennial PING Junior Solheim Cup, an international team match play event that pits the best junior girls from the United States against their European counterparts.

Rolex was also named the inaugural Founding Partner of the Achieving Competitive Excellence Grant. The ACE Grant is designed to give top-flight junior golfers the ability to play a national junior golf schedule despite their financial resources. With the support of Rolex and other sponsors, the program has grown tremendously. In 2008, the AJGA envisions helping approximately 90 deserving golfers.

“After nearly three decades of support, Rolex has become one of the AJGA’s most prominent supporters,” said AJGA Executive Director Stephen Hamblin. “We are very proud of our relationship with Rolex and we are extremely appreciative of its commitment to the AJGA and junior golf.”
