AJGA to Host National Qualifier in May

The AJGA has added an additional opportunity for players to build their Performance Based Entry status during the 2007 season. The AJGA will host a National Qualifier over Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28, at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga.

Applications will become available Tuesday, April 17 at 3 p.m. EST. The AJGA National Qualifier is open to all members and the field of 72 (boys and girls) will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Fifty percent of the initial field is reserved for 2008 graduates.

The fee for the AJGA National Qualifier is $230. Performance Based Entry is as follows:

Champion – 2 Tournament Exemptions
Top 10 – 1 Tournament Exemption
Top 50% - 1 Performance Star

Champion – 2 Tournament Exemptions
Top 3 – 1 Tournament Exemption
Top 50% - 1 Performance Star

Please Note: The application for the AJGA National Qualifier will be found in the AJGA Player Center under “Apply to Tournaments.” It will appear under Week: 10. The tournament withdrawal deadline to receive a refund is Tuesday, April 24.

Its goal is to give top-flight golf opportunities to young golfers regardless of financial resources. This program helps to fulfill the AJGA’s mission of developing young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf.

What is Leadership Links?

Leadership Links is a new program whereby the AJGA is able to further its mission to help develop young men and women by teaching charitable giving skills and service-oriented practices at an early age. This program gives juniors all the tools necessary to donate their time, talent and resources to local charities and the AJGA youth development programs.
