College Round-up
The Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational will be played at The Ohio State University's Scarlet course in Columbus, Ohio, July 12-15. The tournament will be the only invitational on the Nationwide Tour and will open the door for college players. Among those eligible to compete in the 144-player starting field will be the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's champion, the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year, and all the first-team All-Americans named by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Georgia won the Puerto Rico Classic on Feb. 27 at Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The Bulldogs shot a collective 14-under-par 805. Joseph Bramlett of Stanford and Roberto Castro of Georgia Tech tied for medalist honors with matching 7-under-par 209s.
Gary Woodland of Kansas lead the Jayhawks to victory at the All-American Golf Classic, played at The Tradition at Cypresswood in Spring, Texas. Woodland also claimed the individual title with a 5-under-par 211.
Arizona State successfully defended its title at the Wildcat Invitational at Arizona National Golf Club in Tuscon, Ariz. Amanda Blumenherst of Duke recorded rounds of 70-69-71 for a total of 3-under-par 210 to earn medalist honors.
Diana Hong of Washington State won individual honors at the Red Rock Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz with rounds of 75-72 for a 3-over-par 147.
