Junior Round-up

Taylore Karle will play in this week's LPGA Safeway International presented by Coca-Cola. Karle finished second in the recent Safeway International Amateur Open to earn the invitation. Karle is familiar with Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club's Prospector Course, having won the 2006 PING Phoenix Junior there in August. Former AJGA member Sydnee Michaels, now a freshman at UCLA, will also play in the event.

College Round-up

Georgia won its second event of the spring season at the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational with a 10-under-par 854. The Bulldogs were led by Chris Kirk, who won individual honors with a 6-under-par 210, and runner-up Brendon Todd, who shot a 4-under-par 212.

St. Mary's took top honors at the University of San Francisco Triumph, finishing at 1-over-par 853. The Gaels were led by Michael McRae, who took the individual title with a 4-under-par 209.

BYU claimed victory at the UNLV Spring Invitational with a team-total 17-under-par 847. Jennifer Shipley of Fresno State won on the third playoff hole to take medalist honors with an 11-under-par 205.

Duke rolled to another victory, this time at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic. The Blue Devils fired a tournament-total 8-over-oar 872 and Amanda Blumenherst captured the individual title with a 9-under-par 207.

Purdue's Maria Hernandez won the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational with a 1-over-par 217. Lamar's Hillary Zeigler captured medalist honors at the Lady Cardinal Invitational with an 8-over-par 150.
