Srixon, I.R.I. Golf Group to Co-Sponsor AJGA Mixed-Team Event

Unique format event to be held in Tucson, Ariz., May 4-6, 2007

Srixon, a golf ball and equipment manufacturer, will pair up with I.R.I. Golf Management Group to sponsor the I.R.I./Srixon Mixed Team Championship hosted by Jim Furyk to be held May 4-6, 2007, the American Junior Golf Association announced Tuesday. The event will be held at Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

The 54-hole stroke play team event consists of 36 teams, each comprised of one boy and one girl, and will feature three scoring formats over two days. The formats include modified Scotch, foursomes and four-ball competition. The event, in its fourth year, is again hosted by AJGA alum Jim Furyk, who in 2006 finished a career-high second on the money list and won the Vardon Trophy for the first time. He also had a career-best thirteen top-10 finishes, including nine top-3s, four second-place finishes, and two victories on the PGA TOUR.

“We at the I.R.I. Golf Group are very pleased to have Srixon join us as a co-tournament sponsor,” said Jeff Silverstein, I.R.I. Golf Group owner. “Their involvement, along with Jim Furyk, will ensure that the Mixed Team Championship will continue to be one of the finest junior golf events played each year.”
