In-Bee Park, 16, carded a tournament total of 12-under-par 204 at the LPGA Takefuji Classic at Las Vegas Country Club. Park's final-round 5-under-par 67 was good enough for a fifth-place finish, four shots behind tournament champion Wendy Ward.
Park, the 2002 Rolex Junior Player of the Year, earned her second top-10 finish at the event after finishing tied for eighth last year.
LPGA rookie Paula Creamer's final-round 65 propelled her into a tie for third. Creamer's finish was her best as a professional.
Holmes leads Kentucky to SEC Title
Senior John Holmes' third-place finish gave the University of Kentucky its first SEC Title at the Southeastern Conference men's golf championship April 17 on the Seaside Course at Sea Island Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga.
The Wildcats finished the third round with a 3-over-par 283 for a tournament total of 875, two shots ahead of Auburn.
Richard Scott finished at 5-under-par 211 and earned runner-up honors. Scott helped pace the University of Georgia, which earned a third-place finish at 883.
Vanderbilt's Luke List finished tied for 18th at 224.
Levin and Kim Share Medalist Honors at Texas A&M Invitational
A pair of AJGA alums shared medalist honors at the Texas A&M Invitational April 17 at the Traditions Golf Club in Bryan, Texas.
Oklahoma's Anthony Kim fired a final-round 3-under-par 69 to tie with New Mexico's Spencer Levin. Levin, who opened with rounds of 67 and 69, managed a 74 on the final day.
Oklahoma State's Tyler Leon finished tied for third with a total of 3-under-par 213.
Oklahoma State edged New Mexico by two strokes for the overall team victory.
AJGA Alums Power Duke to ACC Championship
Brittany Lang carded a tournament total of 3-over-par 219 to lead Duke University to a win at the ACC Championship at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. Teammates and fellow AJGA alumni Anna Grzebien and Elizabeth Janangelo finished second and third, respectively.
Duke dominated the event, finishing with a three-day total of 886. Wake Forest finished a distant second (933), followed by North Carolina State (944).
