Lennar Communities Becomes Title Sponsor of Prestigious AJGA Event
National Homebuilding Company backs Lennar Junior at Mission Hills

BRASELTON, Ga. — Lennar Communities of Southern California has agreed to sponsor the American Junior Golf Association’s Lennar Junior at Mission Hills, the Association announced Tuesday. The event, which annually features one of the top fields in all of junior golf, is slated for June 23 — 26 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

“Lennar Communities is proud to be affiliated with this premier national junior golf event,” said Bob Santos, Lennar Communities President. “This tournament is one of the most prominent events in junior golf and we are pleased to help ensure its continued success in the Palm Springs area.”

Former champions of the event — which is heading into its 22nd year — include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Grace Park and Emilee Klein. This year’s field will include 84 players from across the country and include many of the top juniors from California. An 18-hole qualifier for those players not in the tournament field will be held on June 22.

“This event is one of the strongest and longest-running events in all of junior golf,” said Jason Etzen, AJGA executive vice president of development. “We’re excited Lennar Communities has agreed to sponsor this great event, and we look forward to providing this opportunity to our members.”

Lennar Communities, a national homebuilding company, is entering its first year of AJGA sponsorship. The company, which began as a local homebuilder in Miami in 1954, now offers the most diversified product line in the industry. The company builds homes for first-time, move-up and active adult buyers at many different price levels and community settings.
